Static Architecture

Static Architecture explores urban structural forms through striking contrast and rich physical texture. Set against a luminous, oil pastel tinted encaustic base, layered handmade papers create a sharp, silhouette-like skyline marked by graphic black-and-white linework and warm metallic accents. The addition of expanded mesh paper adds dynamic geometric relief, anchoring the piece in a subtle, three dimensional grid.

Interrupted Grid
12" x 12" Framed $275
Interrupted Grid contrasts structured repetition with rich, tactile relief. A soft blend of oil pastel tints the encaustic base, providing the foundation for the finely etched grid lines, overlaid with a luminous section of gold leafing.
The rhythmic pattern is dynamically broken by a raised, handwoven corrugated cardboard element, bringing a bold 3D dimensional geometry and architectural depth to the surface.

CB Series No1
10" x 12" Framed $275
CB Series No1 marks the debut of an ongoing exploration into elevating everyday industrial materials into rich, sculptural forms. Set against a luminous, atmospheric background of orange oil pastel tinted encaustic, an arched section of corrugate cardboard vaults outward from the panel in a wave-like curve.
Multiple built-up coats of gold encaustic medium create a heavily textured, molten surface, while deep blue alcohol ink accents sink into the crevices to heighten the dimensional movement.
Housed in a sleek black wood floater frame that allows the dimensional centerpiece to truly stand out.
Root Form
12" x 16" Framed $285
Root Form weaves rich organic elements with geometric structure. A heavily textured encaustic ground, brushed with shimmering gold wax paste, sets a radiant stage for a woven handmade paper mat of earthy olive and wine.
Resting in the foreground, an abstract "lily" formed from natural twig and stiffened cheesecloth emerges from a cheesecloth wrapped circular plane-anchoring the composition with dramatic presence.

Held by a Thread balances minimalist calm with vibrant, tactile tension. Set against a smooth ground of natural encaustic medium, a veil of frayed red encaustic-coated cheesecloth creates a delicate grid of woven texture. Balancing on a paper embellished base, the red cube draws the eye into 3D relief.

Structural Overgrowth

Structural Overgrowth explores the dynamic tension between orderly geometry and organic expansion. Anchored on a smooth. natural encaustic base, a hand painted harlequin grid lies beneath an expressive sculptural Joomchi form. Delicate cheesecloth fronds extend outward, accentuating the lush green paper's raw texture and dimensional relief as it bursts past the rigid geometric boundaries.

Cartography of Stone
8" x 10" Framed $185
Cartography of Stone transforms molten wax into a sculptural, geological map. Built up using accretion technique, raised encaustic "stones" in gleaming gold and rich cobalt blue, rest atop a textured earth-tone encaustic bedrock. Carved crevices add depth to the organic, river-pebble quality of the wax.
Presented in a black floater frame that sets off the piece's high relief and metallic contract.
Triptych in Blue

Triptych in Blue captures a vibrant interplay of rich luminosity and ancient, tactile texture. The central panel bridges the three distinct visual movements: a heavy texture teal and gold field reminiscent of weathered minerals, a bold vertical accent of fused bright yellow, and a cool metallic-purple section with raised geometric grid lines and debossed circular forms.

Reframed Packing transforms everyday utilitarian packing into a striking architectural collage. Set against a bold, color-blocked palate of oil pastel in vivid lime green and orange-red, layers of geometric mesh packing paper form an intricate central structure. Subtle wax accretion drops and carved horizontal line accents add tactile depth, fusing raw industrial paper textures with the wax foundation.

Veil of Remnants

Veil of Remnants captures a delicate, atmospheric sense of memory and growth. Set against an oil pastel tinted encaustic palette of seafoam green and soft yellow tones, embedded handmade papers weave subtle textures and brick-like patterns into the background. Emerging in high relief, a sculpted cheesecloth floral arrangement highlighted with luminescent gold wax paste, adds dimensional shimmer, bringing warm depth and organic life to the ethereal composition.

Quiet Places

Quiet Places celebrates the soft, felted texture and rich color depth of traditional paper manipulation. A central Korean Joomchi composition- featuring organic layers of indigo, teal, lavender and gold- is mounted over an encaustic-coatedJoomchi mat with soft deckled edges. Resting on a smooth encaustic foundation, the piece highlights raw fiber construction, subtle organic sprig elements, and a serene, contemplative aesthetic.
Simply framed is a black wood floater frame, the paper textures are showcased.
Celestial Hive
24" x 24" Framed (walnut) $1400
Celestial Hive merges organic cosmic patterns with structured geometric elements to evoke a dynamic, floating galaxy.
Using a shellac burn technique and hand carving into the encaustic base, intricate web-like fissures sweep across the surface like a swirling Milky Way. Circular orbs made from manipulating mesh packing paper and cracked shellac patterns float across the composition, creating layered depth, movement, and a honeycomb-like dimension.
Framed in a walnut wood floater frame, accenting the artworks golden, earthly warmth.
The Joomchi Grove
12" x 15" Framed (black) $285
The Joomchi Grove is a whimsical, dimensional celebration of nature and craftsmanship. natural twig, wrapped with Joomchi paper and hand dyed yarn, forms the tree structure. It "grows" from a hand panted black-and-white harlequin planter, extending colorful leaves made from Korean Joomchi paper, across textured off-white encaustic foundation.
This three-dimensional assemblage combines textile warmth with structural geometry, resulting in a piece that is as tactile as it is playful.

Corrugated Passage
This is the finale piece in my CB Series, and a clear standout as one of my favorite works.
It was thoughtfully constructed by intricately weaving corrugated strips, applying tinted encaustic medium & rubbed with gold wax paste to highlight the corrugation, resulting in the look of distressed metal. The entire piece is made solely of cardboard and encaustic wax.
I honored this work by professionally framing it in a double frame. The 2" main frame is beveled, solid wood with visible grains, separated from the rich 3" black linen mat by narrow gold metal insert, beautifully accenting the gold wax that highlights the piece.
Corrugated Passage sits recessed on a black backdrop, 1" inside its custom frame. Must be seen to be truly appreciated.
